I know what you're trying to say :)

I try to be the whole world for my husband and daughter, because they are....well, my husband and daughter. But it is very hard, because there's that fine line that's drawn in the middle of who I am and who they need me to be. I cannot be what they need me to be if I completely lose who I am. I need to be able to be both, but it is hard to find that balance between the two; the perfect blend, if you know what I mean....

Seems we might be going through something similar, you and I.....

I understand what you are trying to say, and I can't come up with the words either. I'm not trying anymore. I did that for 5 years and I got nowhere. Now I am just trying to be the person I was....

No, because it's not healthy. Sounds like you are looking for the term "co-dependent"? Been there, done that, do not ever intend to again be joined at the hip to someone, or permit another person to run my life. It does NOT work, and to allow it you are giving up your own dignity and sense of self. In this situation, two halves do not make a whole, believe me.

Do you mean like trying to be the apple of someone else's eyes? Like some children will do things just to get attention from their parents. Is that what you mean? Like trying to impress someone.
I don't think I am trying to do that. But I may be. Hmmm...good question.

I've been waiting for being the eyes of somebody for years, and so far it's not working. But I am not planning to give up. I'll be, someday.

Nope I wouldn't want to be someone's whole world, where would I have the free time to live exactly up to their expectations and such. I have enough to deal with as is.

Yes, I do, and you know whose world I aim to be their whole world too.

You can try to but if they don't respond to the exact thing you are doing do not get mad and try to change their mind or the way they think.

Not at the present time, but I have tried to be those eyes, no "good" results so far.
