I was driving and noticed that my engine had begun to rumble, as if exhaust was leaking from the manifold. I opened the hood and noticed a wire hanging just below the intake manifold. I don't have the precise vocabulary to describe it, but it looks to be the O2 Sensor. The funny thing is I can see the hole it appears to have come out of (the hole is on a pipe just below the engine and looks like it leads from the undercarriage to the front of the car...if that makes sense) The hold has a metal filter in the bottom of it, but I can't seem to put the plug back into the pipe; it is as though the plug perfected rusted off of the pipe. Does anyone know what I am referring to and what it might actually be called?
It might not be the O2 Sensor, but it is definitely a sensor of some time. It is part of the assembly of wires connecting the spark plugs, distributor cap, etc. There are two wires that connect to the "pipe" that I'm calling the "exhaust manifold".

I think what you are talking about is the Oxygen Sensor..On a car that is 4 years old it should not be rotted off.....You might be able to get the broken piece out with a large EASY-OUT...The best way to find out what you have for a problem is to pick up a new O2 sensor. Then you'll know exactly what you have to do. I wonder if that is part of the Federal Mandate that guarantees The Emission System for a long time.. Check your owners manual and warranty book.. It may be warrantied........

It does sound like the sensor came out. Generally they are difficult to remove. If the problem is with the threads on the sensor you are fine, just replace it. If it is on the manifold then you may need more extensive repairs. You will need a special socket to replace the sensor with, if you buy a sensor be sure to ask for the socket. That will save you a trip back.

IACV basically controls your idle. MAF sensor. Unplug your MAF sensor and if it runs smoother then this is in all threat the difficulty. they're high priced aspects so i could attempt cleansing it first, they make a particular spray purifier for it. even have your gasoline tension checked and timing checked.
