Rowling has been planning to...
Other Authors and a bunch of other people, groups, organizations,... etc have managed to talk her out of it a couple times and get her to just keep doing books.
So although this is another book with that Rumor, she is still being told by those people it's not time to kill him yet. So likely she will not be killing him off yet.
Some day he IS going to be KILLED OFF though. I suspect that she will hold that off until the Actor would be 21 for that movie or the Character gets one good battle in after graduation (whatever Graduation is like in that world). Or she will make him vanish and start up a new series with one of his offspring (no, he doesn't have any children at the moment but this is something that does happen with highly popular characters).
So Currently: No, he isn't going to die. But noone will know when he is going to die because Rowling is luckily on her own planet about things.

It's always a possibility, but I highly doubt it. I mean, if she kills off Harry Potter, that would successfully end the series, because the series revolves around him. But, after all, when Sir Arthur Conan Doyle killed off Sherlock Holmes, a beloved hero just like our Harry Potter, hundreds of outraged fans wrote letters, all to the point of "Sherlock could not have died! Bring him back!" Thus, Sherlock managed to live despite falling over a waterfall with Moriarty. If J. K. Rowling were to kill off Harry Potter, you can just imagine the insane amount of letters she would get from enraged readers.
So, I doubt she'll kill the center of the story off.

I doubt it, but maybe his red headed buddy will die. Buy the book and see. This will be her last book anyhow.
