No Kimmybabe not for me because i make sure i don't ever over spend ( I'm too mean for that haha )
but i do agree it is getting out of hand for some people because they leave it all til the last minute & are then caught up in all the hype & over spend & yes you are right a lot of money is put out there for one day
the secret so you wont over spend i think is to start early like today if there is any money over lol
but i have never been that good but a few months before Xmas is a good time to start but this year i did leave it all late as i was not in the mood for it but i still never over spent just over ate haha

The commercialization of Christmas indeed has gone full throttle out of hand. But take your issue to the major retail sales corporations. Good luck convincing them to tone down, because BILLIONS $$$$$ in profits TALKS.......LOUD.
Yes, Virginia, that facet of Christmas is disheartening. However, you must also look at how economically Christmas can save economies from stock market crashes, monetary depressions that has us all suffer as those did years years ago in the 1920s.
And while on the subject: I take on the issue of the political correctness of Christmas. For the easily offended idiots, I say MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! And if you're offended by the greeting, then make use of your brain for once and ignore the greeting!!!!

Christmas has gone commercial, and retailers are taking full advantage of our desire to give. With each passing year more and more people end up with a "retail hang-over", in the form of a credit card statement. I feel it doesn't have to be this way. I would much pref fer homemade goodies like a scarf, or preserves. This way, I know the gifts were heartfelt, not just an impulse, due to retail pressure. The greatest gifts I could receive are those of genuine love, and friendship, since they can be given year round.

Christmas isn't getting out of hand, in my opinion it's those of us who forget to use good judgment, who get caught up in the moment and forget that all the great gifts we bought are going to have to be paid for one way or the other.

in some aspect yes...but in others no...christmas is about the giving and not taking...so althou your present buying is at an all time high...christmas is the only time of year that it happens....its not like it happens every week or even every month...just enjoy the festive spirit
