Talking to pt openly. Not doing the sterotype for e.g. if its and elderly patient you increase your volume. Reassuring pt and listening to their concerning. Trying to have atleast one person who is bilingual, unfortunately not everyone speak english. When administering care talk to the patient, be mannerly as this tends to reassure them and put them at easy which in turn let you perform your work quickly and deligently

Communication skills are an invaluable tool in the healthcare setting. Good communication strategies (repeating the client's last statement, open-ended questions, therapeutic silence etc.) can be employed to relax the client. When the client is comfortable, he (or she) is much more likely to answer questions honestly and to be more open with the healthcare worker. This open honesty leads to more timely and accurate healthcare (or social care) interventions with shorter treatment times needed.
