Download itunes and limewire. Get songs from limewire and download them. Open up itunes and limewire at the same time. Left click on a song form limewire that u downloaded and dont let go untill u skimed over the itunes window on the bottom and it opens. Then add it to ur library in itunes. REMEMBER DONT LET GO OF LEFT CLICK UNTILL U GET THE SONG INTO YOUR LIBRARY. THIS IS ALSO ILEGELL BUT IT IS FREE. Get out of itunes and disconnect your ipod out of your computer. Reconnect it and open up itunes. Your songs will be updated on your ipod nano for free.

iTunes, Napster, Amazon.com, some band pages on myspace and a few others. Don't let anyone tell you things like limewire, morpheus, or any other peer to peer sites. At those sites, you are downloading copyrighted songs, without paying for them, and that is illegal. It is stealing. It is also a good way to get a computer virus, and/or a huge fine for copyright infringement. (Don't believe me? go to RIAA.com and you can read all about. Inform yourself before you commit a crime)
Also, you can rip songs from CDs you already own.

Try Limewire! I believe that most download sites for IPod you have to pay for. Limewire is a free peer 2 peer file sharing network. The only thing is that you have to be smart about what you chose to download as some downloads contain spyware and viruses. Once the songs are downloaded to the storage file of your choice (usually "program files\shared" by default or something similiar) just xfer the them over to you Ipod just like you would any other mp3 player.

Also, a good firewall/spyware detector like "zone alarm" will protect you from viruses and spyware. Download the free version at www.zonelabs.com

Good Luck!
