What button do we have to use to get around it?

you can still play, you just won't be able to save your games....that means, if you are playing an adventure game, and need to save your spot in the game, or save your position, you won't be able to. But if you play sports games, it won't matter that much. good luck to you......Oh, you don't need a button to get around it.

Sure, but you can't save. So, if you turn off the PS2 console then next time you start that game you will be at the beginning, like maybe a race car game lets you 'earn' faster cars which would be lost on a power cycle. Also, there's no way to store high scores through a power cycle.

you can play any game with out a memory card but you need one to save it

this play station is imposible to work without the memory card and this ps is waste without the memory card my gf or bf gf means girl friend and bf means boyfriend

yes there are games that don't require it. also not having one only prevents you from saving your progress.
