no. You need itunes to correctly transfer music to your Ipod.

u can!!!!
bt in order to do this u'll first hav 2 use itunes initially...
1. using itunes..enable d 'enable disk use option'
2. download this software 'yamipod'...search it on google...
3. open my computer......goto d ipod folder........copy paste the yamipod.exe file in d ipod folder....
4. now u dont need 2 use itunes...
5. wen ever u connect ur ipod...goto my computer->ipod folder->yamipod.exe-> drag and drop d music files u want 2 add...
U'RE DONE!!!!

I'm not sure because in my manual it says to download iTunes but a friend's sister uses iMesh or iMash, something like that.
