To me, an explicit album isn't about the cussing, it's about artistic integrity. When an artist writes a song, the 'explicit' version is the one that they write. The lyrcis were written specifically to deliver the kind of message and meaning the artist intended. In certain cases, artists use cuss words in their lyrics to provide impact or to illustrate their strong feelings towards a subject. However, the cleaned-up radio versions usually end up altering the songs to make them fit for public airplay - sometimes by changing a word to a less offensive one or rewriting entire lines or phrases altogether. Obviously, when this happens, the song has been changed from the artist's original intention and lessens whatever impact was originally written into the song. In essence, it's like putting pants onto a classic greek sculpture or drawing clothes over a nude painting. So while it may be offensive to some, I choose to listen to the original, 'explicit' version.

Some clean versions simply edit out the explicit content, leaving blank spots in the songs. You'll be listening to a song, then it'll go silent for a second where they cut the profanity or whatever, then the song continues.
Get the explicit version, unless you're afraid that a few bad words will poison your fragile little mind.

If you get the CLEAN version, it won't get infected. So, get the EXPLICIT version.
