not successfully...the block and heads of a diesel engine are much stronger than a gas engine....this is due to the higher pressures that are involved with diesel, also the increased amount of vibration.

It just isn't cost effective to covert gas to diesel....

yes and no, you would need diesel cylinder heads and wiring for glow plugs and diesel injection and so forth, and also you would need ot increase the compression ratio to around 22:1

gas engines are commmonly 8.0:1 to 9.0:1

it would be most cost and work effective to just put in a diesel engine
