Not just prettier than the women who take part in beauty contests but many everyday women I see are prettier than celebrities and being in London I have met and seen quite a few female celebs. I think the beauty of the famous is way overrated.

Yes, definitely! I've even found this to be true with "America's Next Top Model" show, hosted by Tyra Banks. A few of the girls I think to be rather plain, but then when they are made up, it's a transformation into "Wow". I happen to have 2 very beautiful girls, and I am not just saying this because I am their mother, I am saying this because it's true and everyone says so, and I find I wonder what they would look like if they had a professional makeup artist to do their makeup. Years ago, I use to babysit for this woman who was a model. In her every day life she never wore makeup and I always thought her to be kind of homely, and wondered how she could be a model. Then she went on "Let's Make a Deal" and she fixed her hair all up and put on her "modeling" makeup, and I swear, she wasn't even remotely the same person. She transformed from an ugly duckling, into a beautiful swan. But she had gone to modeling school, and they taught her how to professionally apply makeup. I remember I was simply blown away by her transformation. Now, I know this isn't true of all models, some are just naturally beautiful, with or without makeup, but some really aren't at all that attractive in my opinion.

Girls are beautiful next door than the ones that walk funny down the runway or the beauty contest.
The girls in fashion TV look funny.
Who is to decide who is beautiful in a 'beauty' contest? What do they know?
I agree, girls are beautiful in my town than anywhere else in the world. For that matter I have travelled far and wide. I come back, look around and..........I still rate my town girls as the best looking. I could get a whiplash looking at girls in my local mall.
Don't know where to look? Girls are prettier by the day.

Yes. I think that sometimes a person's beauty grows on you and someone who you thought was average becomes more and more attractive. Also I find the plastic look is quite hard for a girl to pull off, but that seems to be the only ones who enter beauty contests. Maybe the really gorgeous girls don't need to enter a competition to prove anything.

Yes Yes Yes. I have seen prettier girlies on the high street. They are by far prettier than you have ever seen on contestant row.

Yes Tulip, I agree with you. I prefer everyday women to a beauty queen. I like real, not fake women.

Absolutely. I have seen some women who are sooo stunning that literally a street will stop and turn their heads, male and female alike.
And then I look heavenwards and thanks and curse simultaneously for being a man- but soooo very not her type.
Latin America, Europe and Asia are brimming with stunners. You have never seen so many supermodels.

Of course.
Women in contests are made up to the max, stretched and primed. It's not reality.
