I just got a guitar today for Christmas. Any tips/advice or good websites where I can learn or find good music/tabs???

All these suggestions I see so far are good, espicially where they say NEVER GIVE UP. Allow your growing love/passion for guitar to propel you to learn how to play it--and in no time, you'll see and hear amazing sounds YOU make from it.

The secret however, is in how much love you have for guitar and how much work you're willing to put in to learn and play like them.

Practice, Practice, Practice, Practice & Practice.
!. learn the 7 chords "A, B, C, D, E, F & G
2. Pratice those everyday for just an hour
{ Just put it down to rest, DONT GIVE UP}
3. Go to the library and take out a book called "1001 songs"
and away you go playing 1001 songs

if you can afford it, get some lessons so you don't learn the *wrong* way (maybe ask for them for your b-day or something). try some books too. This is a really good website for tabs: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/
