Someone give me an interesting topic to research. I'm stuck at work all day (Christmas day) and don't have much to do. I would appreciate some good reading material. Thanks.

Mega kudos to you for wanting to do something useful with the free time you have at work. :-)
I would probably just try to scan through newspapers that you normally don't look at from around the country. With the Web you have access to them all. I mean, for instance if you live in New York, try reading the Boston Globe a bit, and the LA Times. or maybe even some smaller papers from middle America. This way you can see what's happening in other parts of the country that won't get reported to you locally.
