Countries choose to join the WTO. The WTO is an organization that has the goal of improving trading relationships among countries.
So, I think we can then conclude that countries that belong to WTO are those countries that wish to better themselves by become more integrating with other countries through international trade.

The WTO is one major channel through which countries interact. It can show a lot about the international economy, I'm sure!
One point you may like to consider using is that when anti-dumping rules or agreements (not sure) were passed, it was envisaged that the rich countries would use these laws to stop poor countries dumping goods on their markets. Dumping means selling a product abroad at a price lower than the price in the domestic market. It could be done, for instance, by one country to drive another country's industry in that product out of business. The laws have been used MORE OFTEN by poor countries who complain rich countries dump goods on their markets!

WTO does not reflect the international economy at all. Most of international trade in the world occurs within Europe, which, incidentally, doesn't really need WTO because it has the common market...
