I am starting a new political party (Maa Party) that would give
a guaranteed minimum income to each citizen a certain sum of monthly money independent of whether they work or not.

Clarification: This is Maa Party manifesto and would be implemented after coming into power.

I would vote for Maa Party, if it is their manifesto.

A credible unemployment insurance for everyone whether they work or not will prevent all socioeconomic issues in India viz farmer suicides, dowry deaths, child labor, corruption, bribery, etc.

In Portugal, Brazil, USA, Belgium, UK etc this system is implemented.

The two parties will continue to pump out these watered down Middle of the Road candidiates that are more of PR men (and women) than actully having a stand on anything. McCain has changed his mind and stance on so many occasions depending on the situation... Clinton only points the finger in blame and doesn't have ideas to cure the ills she points out... Even Obama says he's for change and no PR or spin, but each and every one of his speeches is exactly the same, written and scrubbed by dozens of yes men. He says he's all about change, but he has no feasible ways to gain that change... There are so many things wrong with the system and there is no end in sight for the current ways. It takes too much money right now to run a successful campaign... that's why there will never be a candidate that is truely for the people... they have not grow up in poverty, they have not lived paycheck to paycheck, they have not gone to the emergancy room without insurance...

I will not only not vote for you and your party but also do everything possible to arrest you and debar your party for any kind of recognition. I think for a party like yours with such an Agenda, I need not do any thing, but the law will take its own course and action.

Be careful before mooting any such party. The money which you propose to distribute is not your's but our's ie., citizens of India who sincerely work and pay taxes.

So BEWARE.

depends on how you plan to pay for the people that don't work. If my taxes get raised to pay for the lazy a $ $es that are able to work but won't then no I would not vote for them.
Start a party that helps the people that work and can't pay for childcare or food and the people that don't work don't get anything. That group I would vote for.

I think instead of voting for you I would ask the Income tax people to find out where did you get the money to pay out.

Have you paid your taxes.
Your source of Income. Etc

no. Because I'd be one of those working, paying taxes, and having my money given to someone who isn't working. How is this good for me?

Sure, why not, that would cost less than the Iraq invasion and occupation cost.
