I made an initial exploritary expedition to see what was required at first hand. I then decided on a traditional stuffing - carrot and cucumber mix. After making sure everything was moist I got a good handfull and inserted it at a steady speed. The bird slid slightly across the kitchen table at this point, but I held it down with one large hand and kept on going until I was satisfied.
Satisfied now ?

Don't stuff the bird with stuffing. It draws out too much mositure from the turkey. you also end up having to overcook the turkey to bring the stuffing up to a safe temperature. If you like dripping in your stuffing, just use some of the dripping from the pan when preparing your stuffing. Things you can stuff inside the bird to add flavor is endless. If just depends on what you are going for. I have stuffed birds with herbs such as rosemary, sage, and even oregano. Things such as apples, oranges, pineapple, and oranges can sweeten the bird. Stuffing wtih celery, carrots, onions, and whole garlic cloves also help develop more flavors.
