OMG, thank you for this info. I didnt know he died. What a horrible thing to die on Christmas day. He will be SORELY missed!!!!

well he had to die sometime, he was ill, he was up there and really lived pretty long considering how he abused his body thru his life with drugs and drink, I gotta give the godfather his due though and I think its kind of ironic to me that he died today on Christmas. One of the happiest and most deeply revered days of the year for so many. The man was a legend he contributed immensely to music NOT just soul music, his talent his innovations and imaginations will be greatly missed, may the "hardest working man in show business" rest in peace

It is sad...but he did lead a wonderful, rich life and left us a BIG collection of excellent tunes.
The Godfather of Soul will always have a place in my heart and a melody in my ears.
My most favorite album of his is the "Live At The Apollo" (1962).
Not only could the listener FEEL the energy, but technically, this was a brilliant recording, done with only TWO microphones and NO studio re-mastering.
It IS what it IS - EXCELLENT!!!
Try and find that kind of stage perfection and audio sonics without all the gizmos in today's music.
I dare ya!

I am a huge fan of James Brown and also my family too. I was shocked when I heard it on the news that he died on Christmas day.

God rest his soul he is the greatest and will be remember forever.
I have a James Brown Toy that dances and sings I feel good and belive it or not i listen to it every single day.

Its such a same for him to die on christmas. I wasn't really a fan but i knew who he was and how talented he was and now it just tears me to bits.
