when I put the game in, the autorun screen came up like it was supposed to. Then it asked for a code number found in the lower-left hand corner of the back of the case. The case is right in front of me and there is no number in the lower left hand corner. The only number is on the barcode (that doesn't work and neither does the ISBN). Does anyone know where this number is?

Are you sure you don't have one of the expansions? On the first Sims 2 game the key code is on the back of the case in the lower left hand corner. If you have NightLife, Open for Business or Pets, the key code is on the back of the book inside the case at the top. You may be trying to install an expansion pack. If not, call EA games @ 1-650-628-4329

The number is inside the case at the top left hand corner. Sometims it is on the back of the manuel.

The number may be inside the case. Mine was on the inside of the left flap (the front cover).
