She didn't even say "Hello, my royal subjects" before starting today, so some sort of greeting before she ploughed in would have been nice.
If I was Queen, I start with "Howdy there, people. Put the washing up down for a sec, I want a word."
I heard the other day that they surveyed her speeches over the last fifty years and she's getting progressively less posh-sounding. If she makes it to a similar age to her mum, she might start speaking proper estuary English.

The Queen is a very sensible woman who cares about her reputation and that of her family. Therefore, she would never say what I want her to, but here goes.

People of the Britain and the Commonwealth

I am bored with doing this every year, quite frankly. I am one hundred and sixty, and saying how much I trust the PM and how well our troops are doing in (Afghanistan/Iraq/Falklands delete as appropriate) is wearing thin.

My family are a bunch of racists, halfwits and creeps. I dread to think what will happen to you lot when I'm gone. I don't believe in God, I hate every MP I've ever met, and Diana was a gormless fool. There you go, you princess of Wales loving morons, your Queen has spoken her Mind. And why doesn't one have a Queen's Speech theme tune? Philip, stop throwing darts at that portrait of Diana, and get me Elvis!
