Windermere, at 10.5 miles long is England’s longest lake. It stretches from Waterhead in the north to Lakeside in the south and has a maximum depth of 67 metres.

The only true lake in the Lake District is Bassenthwaite Lake. All the rest are meres or waters.

Loch Morar is the deepest fresh water lake in UK. It is located in Scotland and it measures 310 m (1017 ft) at its maximum depth. It is the fifth largest loch in Scotland by surface area.

Loch Ness is the second largest Scottish loch by surface area but measures only 248 m (813 ft) at its deepest part.

A loch (Lough outside Scotland) is a either a body of water or a sea inlet.

only 1 lake in Scotland-rest are lochs.So deepest lake probably in England.

Don't know about freshwater but Loch Ness is greater than 1 Mile deep. Actual depth is unrecordable, too deep
