Poor self-esteem and second guessing yourself go away most easily by focussing on good results from your actions, not the few times someone rejected you or criticized you. As you continue to take risks and notice the lack of harmful results, you will slowly move away from basing your actions on what you THINK others want of you (you may often be wrong, if you bother to ask those you trust) and toward things that you want or need.
Repeating positive affirmations of your ability to make wise decisions and how many caring and respectful people you have in your life (especially when facing a mirror), may increase your ability to take more risks and stop worrying so much.

You must bear in mind how much trust you have in that other person's opinion. Most people don't know any better than you do. If they disagree with you, they are just as likely to be wrong as you are. You are not wrong merely because they think that you are. There is no point taking their opinion into consideration. The best decision anyone can make is to do what they think is best. No one can blame you for not doing better than your best.

Well unfortunately i'm suffering that, what i recommend you is to forget what others think, do whatever you feel as long as it doesn't hurt others directly. Try to break society patterns, obviously not in the sense of breaking the law but to break the same routine of the people.
JUST BE YOURSELF AND DON'T EXPECT THE ACCEPTATION OF ANYBODY EXCEPT THE ONE FROM GOD THE ONE THAT REALLY COUNTS...

if you are a perfectionist, and are used to gaining approval through your behavior, actions, abilities, etc., it can help to reveal to people you respect your deepest, darkest character flaw (or a truth about yourself you KNOW they will not approve of). once they know that about you, it can be an incredibly liberating experience. i was keeping a huge secret from my family and was terrified they would find out. when i decided to just tell them, i realized that experiencing their reaction was the scariest thing that would happen to me. once i got past it, i was free to do or say anything to anyone and not face that intense fear. follow your heart.
