Of coarse there are specific expectations to be beautiful. I mean, the public appearence these days makes all women feel that to be beautiful, they must be skinny and have perfect hair, eyes, nose.
In order to be beautiful, one must be perfect. That is something that I cannot stand, which is why this morning was a very upsetting day for me. I'm not fat, but I'm not skinny either. Needless to say, I am not anywhere near perfect, and I'm certainly not beautiful in the way society says I should be. Well, when people give me clothes that are so small, even a blind person knows I can't fit into them, it is quite upsetting.
The public view of the world has changed so much in the past years. Look how many more people suffer from eating disorders. Look how many people think that in order to be pretty they have to wear makeup.
I don't wear make up, because I don't want to hide my TRUE beauty. Anyone who feels they should to look nice, needs to understand that make up is just a mask.
Thank you for asking this question. I wish more people were like you, and interested in such a topic.

As far as the media is concerned, yes. When a pretty, slim female with sharp features walks by a group of males no doubt they are all going to look. But what about the pleasingly plump female with the cutely rounded face? Will not the men also drool over her, too? The bigwigs who control the media have the power to make the world believe that their thoughts or opinions are right. To me beauty is a big booty!

Yes there are certain quantifiable things.
* symetry, the left and right sides of the body and face are to be very close to identical, except for a rare beauty mark. ( male and female)
*size, as an example height-= most folks think that the aproppriate height for women is about 5 ft as a minimum, and 5 9 as a max, excluding runway models and actreesses. For men add about 6 inches. For weight there are camps that like, slightly skiny, average, and curvy, but extremes of weight are considered unattractive,
*The idea of skin color has changed over the ages. At one time being very pale was a sign of wealth, as that meant you had an indoor lifestyle. Today, many skin colors are considered, "in". Very pale is not one.
* facial features have been studied quite a bit, and there are certain aspect rations such as width seperation between eyes, chin to nose, etc, that appear to cause a positive reaction.
*appearance of age- some sickos will go for some very low numbers here, but most healthy folks will agree that the "child rearing" years are the pereferable years in appearance.
*Extreme proliferation of the other Gender's attributes is a negative, Facial hair for women, over sized breast for men, etc.
So, yes, several attributes can be considered quantifiable as currently "attractive".
(there are several others, too many to list here.)
However, there are several things that give the impression of "attractiveness": , Good straight posture, friendly smile, lack of need for money, and clothes that fit and appear new or very well kept.

Its all in how you carry yourself. If you are confident (head up, shoulders back, looking people in the eye, etc) then no matter what weight or body type you have your beauty is much more than the person next to you who lacks confidence but has what the media calls perfection. I dated a girl that was breathe taking when I was with her and gave her ego the support to know that she was gorgeous, then she would get around her family who nit picked her and she would allow them to bully her back down into an ugly duckling. It was very irritating. Of course a nice rack is never bad.

So many people are visual and never look past a plain Jane or a nice Gal with a few extra pounds on her. Try meeting a girl online and get to know her before you see her. I think you'll find that you will find beauty in everyone.

It all depends on the persons taste. For example I like girls that have any color hair, any color eyes(except brown). In good shape(athletic build) I don't care about big breasts, I prefer them on the smaller size. Within a few inches of my height. I know it is a cliche, but personality really does matter too. I don't care if a girl was the hottest on the planet, if she is a b*tch, I would never date her.

i could no longer help yet notice you pronounced Nambla. It basically popped out at me. i do no longer could study the rest. there's a huge difference between a gay individual and a baby rapist. in case you could no longer understand that, then I doubt i can describe something to you. Like Republican Newt Gingrich believes in, in case you could no longer convince a individual 2+2=4 then you certainly can no longer convince them of something. with a bit of luck sooner or later via genetic engineering human beings of your questioning will sometime be in the previous with Neanderthals and Australopithecus.

i think if you look at all the beautiful people in the world, they all have the same features. they all have high cheekbones, large round eyes, full lips, gorgeus hair, slim body type, tall figure, long legs, and full breasts. but, it doesnt really matter that people look exactly like that. i know tons of people who are gorgeus, and look nothing like that. they're beautiful in their own way. i know thats really corny, but its true!! hope that helps
