I was surprised that it has news stories about Christmas, but it doesn't say "Merry Christmas" anywhere on the page. I remember it mentioned "happy halloween" and "happy 4th of july", why not Christmas?

It's political correctness.
But...what people do not understand is PC actually offends more people by trying not to offend.
I myself celebrate Christmas and I am offended that the holiday I celebrate is being ignored so as to try not to offend people who don't celebrate it.
Yahoo is a world community they should at least try to recognize everyone.
I know alot of people who feel this way.

Generically generated greetings from a corporation linked to any religious affiliation can be fatal. Yahoo is a worldwide corporation and therefore would have to (at least in this politically correct day and age) include every religious holiday. This time of the year, you'll hear and see most companies saying "Happy Holidays" to cover most of the major religious holidays, but most do not say specifically "Merry Christmas" due to the notion that if they do that then they are alienating the Jewish peoples for not including Channukah, or the African Americans for not including Kwanzaa, and so-on. Halloween, and the 4th of July are fairly neutral holidays in that they arte universally accepted to be celebrations of time lines rather than religious affiliations.

Because Yahoo, like most companies in the tech world, is run by liberals. Remember, they're the ones trying to get Christmas out of schools, public areas, malls, stores and just about everywhere else; for fear of offending someone who does not observe Christmas.

They may have given in to political correctness. Yahoo is seen all over the world, including countries that don't celebrate Christmas. It's either worry about their bottom line or just plain cowardarce.

I heard that Yahoo! cancelled Christmas.
Why?
Because they can.
I mean like they can do everything else.
Except for maybe answer any questions they are asked themselves properly.
