Yes, this is a difficult Christmas. We're trying to focus on the here-and-now, not get too caught up in nostalgia. Also, counting our blessings is a way to get past the hurt and sadness.

How about death to a favorite holiday food? Eggnog. My body just no longer likes food made from raw eggs, and has trouble with dairy foods.
I can only remember the past times of drinking it.
Yeah, its aggravating sadness family members not around I used to be with on holidays, drinking the eggnogg given to me as a kid. I miss all my deceased family members.
I feel so choked up right now!

We are carrying on some of the traditions such as making the same dishes using her hand written recipe card. Also mentioning remember when .....
We are also creating new traditions in our home- the 12 hours of Christmas. Should be fun!

It's really so hard for you.I am sorry but if you want you can think about the moment you and he were very happy,or you should think that he's gone but his love and your memories about him are still alive.Try to think about the good things. He will be happy too if he knows you can live well and he is always beside you.

My mother's aunt passed away a little over a week ago, so this Christmas isn't very merry this year.
