My sister, who loves & collects Butterflies, has been wanting a mousepad for her new computer. Something with Butterflies.
Sounds like an easy gift to find ? Well it's not !

Her B/F, Son, & I have all been looking for one for months.

Well at a recent visit to Office Max, I found a mousepad that has a picture frame slot. I went to http://www.flickr.com/
& found several (absolutely beautiful) photos of live butterflies w/flowers. I downnloaded, printed, & cut them down to size. Then slipped the best looking 2 into the mousepad frame. (so she can alternate)
It turned out BEAUTIFUL, if I don't say so myself!
My nephew & sisters boyfriend were almost (it's kinda 'girly') as impressed as she was! (cost?= less than $10)

I also found the cutest little wireless 'mini' mouse (GE brand, $14.99 ) at Big Lots. That was a huge hit, as well. It was a gift for my sisters b/f, who has a laptop & hates the little built-in touchpad. He liked it soooooo much. It has a 'scroll' button & a little compartment to store the little USB receiver thingy.

Finding the right gift for my sister is incredibly tough for everybody...she's VERY picky & almost always returns or exchanges EVERYTHING........
So the mousepad was an even more satisfying (challenge) gift for the 'giver'....ME !

btw..my sisters b/f liked the mini-mouse so much that now my sister thinks that I may have made HER gift to him look like crap, by comparison.....LOL

This year was hard for me, but the one I got the best reaction from was a book I gave my mother.

It was strange how I came across it, I was out Christmas shopping and my mom had asked me to pick up a book for my step-dad. I had not even planned on going to the book store, but there and for some reason I felt like checking out the books in the Christian section which I rarely ever do. And A book caught my eye. I grabbed it for my mom, not really even reading what it was about. Turns out she gone to a retreat and listened to the author speak and wanted to buy the book there, however, to buy the book, she would have to buy like a bag and the book and some other stuff so she didnt buy it. Sometimes its crazy how things work out.

I think the best gift I gave was the one for my Mom. It was a sterling silver necklace with a cross that has a red rose in the middle of it. It's perfect 'cause we're a religios/spritual family and my mom loves roses, especially red ones. She has them all over her garden in the front and backyards.

I gave my daughter the DVD of "The Brave Little Toaster," a movie she loved growing up & one she didn't think I'd be able to find. Her whole face lit up when she opened it. :-)

I gave my son a lego set which he stayed up and put together last night. Not typical legos...this is of a warrior that rides and giant spider. Very cool. You would've thought he was 6 again! LOL
