OMG i cant play x box 360 live it says because my IP adress failed the test???

i dont understand this and this should not be this hard to do i was just wondering if any of you people knew how i could fix this problem, it also says like something about how i cant have more than 1 thing to an ip adress or something idk!

Do you have a router?

Shut off the router, the computer and the 360. Unplug the modem and router and give it a couple minutes to clear the memory before you plug it back in. Restart everything in this order:

Plug back in the modem and the router
Restart the 360
Then restart the computer.

See if that works.
