Horror story ideas?

I need some great ideas for a horror story, but not one thats over-done or overrated...I want it to have a vampire in it, but with a strange, new twist that will really get people's attention....I'm stuck...please help!

Have the vampire at bits of people but leave them still alive. Their eyes perhaps , or fingers!

I don't mean to be cynical but stories of vampires are WAY! over done. They've been around for years; centuries in fact. If you, as a writer, can't come up with an original idea to interject into the genre, perhaps you should reconsider writing the story--especially if you're looking for something that's not "over-done or overrated".

However, for getting your creative thoughts going, try *merging* two or more genres....

And, remember, if you need to go to someone else for an idea, the idea isn't yours and isn't original.....

a preteen boy lives with his mom because his dad left the home while the boy was a toddler. then one day he finds that his mom has left him, too, leaving him all alone. he sets out to find them and one night when there's a full moon he stumbles into a graveyard. a vampire grabs him and takes him into a cavern underneath the ground and is about to bite him when the boy recognizes the vampire as his father (by some kind of scar or facial feature or necklace).
then the vampire remembers the boy as his son. he tells him his story of how he was bitten at night and infected with vampirism and an endless thirst for human blood, so he left the house before vampirism took over him and made him bite his family. he tells his son that the only way for a vampire to be converted back to human is for the vampire who bit him to be killed.
so the boy asks if his dad knows what happened to his mom, and the dad says she got bitten by the same vampire as he, but she was killed. the dad tells the boy that the vampire, count dracula vii, lives in transylvania, so the boy journeys there to slay the vampire, but first must find the man who lives deep in the forests there and is supposedly a retired vampire slayer. the slayer gives him the supplies needed to kill the vampire, but knows the boy will die.
the boy finds dracula vii's underground lair and comes close to killing him. he is bitten, but not hard enough to kill or infect him. he goes back and his wooden stake is splintered, but he grabs a rotting wooden support column and stabs the vampire through the heart. it causes dracula to catch fire and as he burns, the support columns and tree roots poking through the ground catch fire, too. the boy barely escapes with his life, and the slayer is astonished that the boy actually killed the vampire. the boy catches a plane back to his small town to find his parents at home, ragged and skinny, but human.
you can change that around to fit your liking. i just made it up on the fly, so it probably isnt very good.

It does not ought to be some ill loss of life horror tale. a good horror tale you ought to write is something with distinctive embarrassment. think of the 'horror' of having to sing or dance in front of hundreds of thousands and messing up? there is an theory.

Well, this one doesn't have a vampire in it, but it's got a great twist.

There is this young child, and one day his grandmother is found dead, brutally slain. The cops investigate, but find no answer. Almost a week later, the mother and father are found slain in their beds. Continously the rest of the household is killed, until finally only the young boy is left.

In the end, the boy has been killing them all, and the only one left to kill is himself, so he lights himself on fire in front of the police station where they are investigating the family.

Have a young girl start working at the red cross then some how stumbles onto something she should not come to find out there is a whole millionaire group/like mafia in casino only they take there cut of blood from the drives everyday.goes high just when she thinks she's gotten the help she needs like high up gov.official she instead winds up in luney bin.

Have the anti-christ be a charcater who has a blood fetish, but no one knows this or have him be a vampire. I can't do the story because it has sexual content and I am a christian now.
