Miss and yearn are being confused here. You cannot miss something that was never yours. You can yearn for it - but not miss it.

Yes, You can even if you didn't have it, you can still miss it. For example, If you have a favourite Band and you didn't meet them, own them, etc. When their music fades, you will miss them.

Absolutely.
A few years ago my sis brought her cat to me to take care of while she and her family were on holiday for three weeks.......I absolutely loved that cat, and was very sad when they came to pick him up again.
