One thing I find quite often is that the oven is set wrong. Like not on manual, etc. If the knobs that control manual and timed baked are in the wrong position the oven will not come on. Turn your temperature knob to a temperature setting and the aother knob to bake, then try setting the controls that determine how you will bake, eg: timed or manual. If it is new I would say this is the problem. Also get your booklet out and follow the step by step procedures. That is the first things I would check anyway.

Are you Mr. Mom or what,Jake? Just how do you know these things?! This reminds me SO much of when I "attempted" to bake Christmas cookies one year when my kids were much younger. Luckily for me though, it was the Pastor down the street who,by the Grace of God~(not the name of the church)~found my one-and-a-half year old Kyle toddling naked down the center line of the street, and brought him home to me. His 4 yr. old brother had left the front door wide open when he went next door to play with his friend. Kyle was going through that phase where they won't keep any clothes on (actually,I don't know if this is common, but both mine went through this.) What I didn't know until Animal Control showed up at my door was that "Kiko", our Siberian Husky and family guard-dog, had escaped also through the open door and had terrorized the mailman, who then sprayed Kiko down with some fluorescent- orange mace that we never were able to get completely out of his pure white coat, and I was given a citation anf forced to pick up all my mail in person at the post office from then on. Needless to say, there were no home-made Christmas cookies that year, or any other year for that matter. It's a WalMart hard candy Christmas for us.

Merry Christmas
