I don't kn ow if this is technically possible without doing a complete refornat of the computer.
Besides that is not an upgrade. Windows 98 is the older version and a really bad one. There is almost no support for Win98 out there and most programs are designed for xp anyhow.
I've used 98 and xp and there is not enough money in the world to get me to go back to 98.

Your Disk should be formatted in fat32
format C:
Install win98 by startup wincd

use a win98 light disk. or a bootable usb driver or Floppy disk.to install it in the next hard disk District.so you have two system to use .if you only want w98. in w98 system .you only need to do is to format the wxp district.

um 98 is a downgrade but you need to fdisk and format the drive and do a clean install of 98 maks sure to ave all the drivers for your devices for 98 first
