I seem to remember that some doctors think the whole idea of teething pain is imagined and they don't get it all. Is this the case or do all babies get teething pain?

Yes they do - babies feel every pain and emotion that everyone else does.

Does this doctor not have children? Of course it hurts. There's hard bone cutting through their soft little gums. I wonder if he thinks menstrual cramps are "all in her head."

My baby nephew is teething, and you can tell it hurts. He puts his little hand (or anything else he can chew) into his mouth on the sore spot and fusses. My sister has some baby Oro-Gel (not sure if that's the right spelling) like you put on cold sores to numb the area. The first time I put it on his gums, he didn't understand why I had my finger in his mouth. He bit down on my finger. It must have been a sore spot because he just screamed. He doesn't cry like that when he's just fussy or mad. The only time he howls like that is when he's hurt, like when he bumps his head on something.

Needless to say I felt awful, but I'm lucky. He's one of those kids who only wails for a few seconds when he's hurt.

Of course babies feel teething pain, I'm sure you yourself know pain full toothache is, well that's pretty much the same pain that children get, when their teeth are cutting through the gum

Any doctor that tells you babies do not feel pain, for something that is clearly painful should be hung up by their eyelids and punched in the nuts until they blink.

That crap has been disproven again, and again. And if you actually spend 5 minutes with a baby it becomes obvious that they are fully equipped humans not "things". Not to mention pain is needed for survival to tell you when you are injured it is probaby the FIRST thing to develop.

Yes babies get teething pain because the teeth got to cut thought the gum to come in. If a doctor said that baby don't get teething pain they are telling a damn lie because my three old month old baby is teething and all he do now is cry because it hurt.If you go the Wal-mart you can get teething tablet and they are safe for baby that are teething because I am going to get me some for my baby.if your baby is teething watch out for running bo-bo and fever.

Yes they feel teething pain!! Are you serious? Why do you think they cry and get fussy around that time? Just for the heck of it? Babies feel pain.

my baby is going through it at the moment, i think that as long as everything else is ok like he's not overtired or hungry then he deals with it better, but some days especially when they are cutting hell yeah it must hurt!

a few days ago i thought he just had 2 more coming through but i noticed today it was actually 4..and he has had to have calpol a few times recently, but today he was fine but all four have broken through the gums a little bit now, so i think that's the worst bit over.
