How do I legally convert a DVD to WMV format (preferrably with open source software)?

I'm looking at this for legal purposes, not to steal movies. I'd like to take a DVD recorded at my church and turn it into WMV to share with friends.

The program i use is called Super Dvd Ripper. It will convert the dvd to all kinds of formats.

I would suggest you use the program designed to make and play this format Windows media Player 9.0 or newer No charge for the program because the cost of this program built into the cost of the operating system software made by Microsoft Windows Inc. the player installer file can be located on and download from http://www.microsoft.com website good luck.
