ok, so I am a senior in high school, and I have never seen this movie, until yesterday. I am a huge fan of 80's movies, so my mom bought it, and Pretty in Pink for me (because I already own wierd science). And I LOVED the movie. I just got so frustrated, because it never told what "the princess" (Clarie) did to get into detention. And I feel that's a question I need answered. I know it doesn't specifically say...but does anyone have a clue?

I was about 16 when that film came out. I think Claire had skipped school to go to shopping and was caught. Watch it from the beginning again. She has a talk with her father (i think) when he is dropping her off for the detention and he mentions it. And yes, I loved the film. There are scenes I can quote by memory!! Look for another film called "Sixteen Candles". Its another classic with Molly Ringwald.

Of course it did. She cut class to go shopping. When her father drops her off in the morning, he talks to her about it.
I haven't seen the movie for ages, but that's an integral part of her character.
