I have been getting contractions since Saturday night all the way up to now. But they are like 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 5, minutes apart. No mucous plug, no water leakage, aching back but not painful. 39 weeks and 6 days. I don't want to go to the hospital, what should I do?

I don't want to go to the hospital just for them to send me home. I rather wait till I see my mucus plug or my water breaks so that I won't be wasting my time. Speaking from experience.

definitely sounds like braxton hicks. When you're contractions get stronger and stronger with increasing pain and pressure on your bowel almost feels like you gotta poop that is when you better get to the hospital ! Depending how far you are. If you are like an hour away go when you contractions are like 5 mins apart. Don't be afraid to ask the drs questions. I got an epidural glad I did too.

Could be early labor. Call your doctor or go to the hospital. Better to have yourself checked out and be sent home because at least then you'll know what's going on.

My daughter experienced a similar situation last summer. At the hospital they monitored the contractions and after talking with her doctor they decided to send her home. Before we left they gave her a shot of pain medication so she could get some relief from the discomfort and rest. We took her home and just a few hours later, we were back - full blown labor.

Hope you have a Christmas baby!! Good luck.

You need to get to the hospital. My doctor told me to go to the hospital if my water broke, OR if I was experiencing contractions 5 minutes apart. Most women do not even see their mucus plug...I know I didn't. It is important that you make sure you are not in labor!!!!

The biggest cause of fake labor is dehydration. If they start up again, drink a quart of water and lay down for 30 minutes or so. The contractions should slow down or stop if they are braxton-hicks. Its advice my midwife gave me that always worked. When its real labor, they'll just keep getting closer and more regular.

ah that is false sign of labor, but probably you will deliver by this week. true signs of labor includes rupture of bow , contractions every 2-5 mins, untolerable acute pain and ache that radiates to your back. you dont have to go to the hospital, just prepare your things that you need if ever you are ready to go to the hospital.

Sounds like false labor. Drink lots of water. Try taking a warm bath. Keep timing your contractions. When they last about 1 min. and are about five min. apart and strong anough that you can not alk through them then go to the hospital.

Go in and get checked. Just for your own mental well being. What a wonderful gift for you to have a child born on this day.
