I spent 20 months in Okla-coma prison for females. No one was forced into anything. I saw a lot that I wish I hadn't seen but you know... your in prison and you are going to see things like homosexual activity. Drugs were smuggled in, anything that you want. But, if you are caught your doing more time. The food - stamped on the boxes - "For Inmate Consumption only!" I wouldn't eat it! It was the worst 20 months of my life and I regret breaking the law, I committed forgery. The guards, well - some good and some very bad. Women packed into buildings like sardines. Wearing the same clothes was not pleasant, but it's prison. I saw fights and some really knock down drag outs! IT is a place were there seems to be no hope. So many women without their children. It was sad really. Not many child crimes where I was located, but there were a few. And they weren't treated kindly at all. Most of the women had Meth., offenses. A quite a few for having to many DWI's and DUI's. I've on ly heard stories about the mens prisons. The people that you have to worry about are the ones that are in higher security that are in there for life. Why not committ another crime - what are they going to do - put you in prison? You are already there. So those guys are the toughest to be around and ususally they are separated because of these factors. If you want Homosexuall activity, well there is plenty of that. Gay for the staaaaaaay - that is what the women called it.I hope this helps your understanding of prisons. It's one big racket. States needs Fed., funds so they keep the prisons full. There were a lot of things that should have been reported that never were. Staph infection was running rapid and the families called the Dept. of Health and they actually came out and shut the prison down, until it was under control. But, if the families had not called, nothing would have changed. So, you reading this... don't do the crime if you can't do the time and its rough. The Fed., prisons are the cushie prisons. They get about everything. Cable tv and excerise equipment. You could earn an Associates Degree in there, but not at the expense of the state. Each person had to have help from someone on the outside to complete school. If you don't have a high school diploma, you got it there. You had to get your GED! No questions asked. When they say jump you say how high? It's ugly and not a happy place to be.

Prison is a world within a world, many inmates prey on the weak. The primary technique in any prison would be to survive by any means. The sexual abuse does occur more often than many will admit. Victimize or be the victim is all to common in the prison system. Movies do exaggerate the truth, yet so do former inmates. In prison everyone is doing the same thing...time.

As a former prison guard I can tell you that some of that stuff goes on, but the movies exaggerate those things to make them seem more prevalent than they are.

It not only happens in prison it also happens in county and city jails. It is as bad as you see in the movies and if people do not think so they need to wake up because it does happen.

Never happened to me... should I say I am lucky? I don't know why those sexual activities are allowed in prisons. Are they true lies only? If you are the prison chief, Your Honour, would you allow that?

That all depends on what prison you are in, but for the most part, no, it's not really like that.

I would say, that if you are in prison, you have been judged by a jury, you have been found guilty of a crime that you committed. I say, "You get what you deserve!"

You've got to beat someone up the moment you get there so no one messes with you. Either that or act crazy.
