The most apparent reason is that Pak has been the bazaar for nuclear proliferation.
But the other side is, the nuclear deal with India is part of US's larger game plan. It is small fish to catch something bigger.
Few reasons could be the huge commercial prospects for US companies selling nuclear tech to India.
It could be to develop india as hedge against China.
Or it could be to use India as a testing grounds for US nuclear energy research since US has had no new plants since 1960's.
Or it could be to divert india's demand for oil to nuclear energy so it will not adversly affect the global prices.
Its not a nuclear weapons deal...but an energy deal.
And there is no free lunch...

First of all because Pakistan doesn't has a clean track record. It is alleged to have funded terrorists groups. India has a clean track record.

my friend there is something known as INTERNATIONAL POLITICS,its this way that it goes....no one wants stability or justice or freedom, every nation wants its own advantage and if someone says that this is wrong..then news for him this is the way that international politics has been goin on for 100 years...
US intelligence has already stated that the upcoming century will have 2 asian superpowers that will literally shake the foundation of international politics and global market...INDIA and CHINA...india has alwayz been in good terms with US..while china i wont say is not in good terms but competition between US and china has alwayz been there in the economic industry for the past 50 years and chances are that china will make itself very strong economically as comp to other western nations..there fore it is fundamental for monopoly to stay on US side for that they need to balance the power in SOUTH ASIA and this is the only way to do this regardless of the fact that INDIA is not part of IAEA and it has gone against IAEA by building NUKES like pakistan but still here comes the dual policy of US when it gives nuclear civilian capability to a nation india who has NUKES while it imposes sanctions on IRAN who is building civil nuclear capability..
and regarding pakistan well pakistan should realize that they are not as geographically significant or economically strong to be given such facility although i am one of those who say that pakistani nuclear capability is much stronger than indians but thats how international relations go..they are based on ones own benefit and politics rather than what is right or wrong
and regarding the fact that they call us CLOSE ALLY well thats a politically oriented statement because they are getting great advantage from us in case of afghanistan and other terror related issues aswell...but now you will say that then we are in an advantage and we can tell them that if they want our support they should give us this nuclear capability..but thats the problem, being a close ally is not their necessity but our necessity because we dont have anyother choice,do we...

I am sure that any deals with India will be matched by deals with Pakistan. The US wants stability and peace between these two countries and would not intentionally unbalance the relationship.

you know what do we really call pakistan a country no it is a place where terrorist grows where AL-QUIDA has many camps to train terrorists and that's why each and everyday they explode bombs in srinagar
if u think pakistan a great country then who are responsible for these genocide
i would say when INDIA got independence on 1947 they shouldn't have created pakistan
i would rather say as soon as INDIA devolped a nuclesr bomb they should test it on pakistan instead testing it on mountains or somewhereelse where people don't live
