Merry X-mas to you too.

Going up to supervisor in construction is something done for a worker with 5+ years experience and who is very conscientious about the project.

You can get ahead faster by trying to anticipate what is needed, do your work as best as you can, help other workers when you see they could use a hand; and show that you care as much about the current project you're working on as the main boss.

Scream when someone is messing something up, then go help that person. People will notice.

Hope this helps.

It's the simple things that are noticed. Do not be late for work. Show up when you're supposed to. Do the very best job you can. Go that extra mile. Make your word as good as gold. If you say you'll do it, then do it. Things like this ARE noticed and taken into consideration when it's time to promote. Being dependable and trustworthy go a long way!!

being able to understand how buildings go together is the key. To get to layout 1st step. Elevations and section cuts ask questions about these things. Learn how to run a construction master calculator. They make figuring out stairs, runs ,heights simple cad drawings suck it won't get better. step 2 once you get to layout don't let anyone assemble anything until everything is laid out plates studs etc everything has to be staged. step 3 figure material out what goes where and why step 4 inventory staged material and then let labor do its thing and coach them
