Okay, thanks for the answers so far, but would it be possible, then, for a person to have both, perhaps a fear of large open spaces because of a fear of meeting and interacting with people there?

agoraphbia: an abnormal fear of being in crowds, public places, or open areas, sometimes accompanied by anxiety attacks.

social anxiety: is a fear of being social

In agoraphobia, one is afraid of wide spaces while social anxienty appears when one has to communicate with others. That is, one fear has to do with space, the other with people.

with agoraphobia its an abnormal fear of the outside world with social anxiety it feeling anxious around people or groups of people
