Yes; iTunes is the program that interfaces between your computer and your iPod.

However, you can import songs from sources other than the iTunes Store into your iTunes Library.

You can download from just about any site, then use itunes to import to your ipod.

no i download my music from different sources then drag into itunes then onto my ipod :)

no. you can have songs in your ipod which are not from itunes.
