Your fish most likely has Dropsy. I reccomend NOT listening to the employees at fish/pet stores. Go to Kokos and ask about what to do. Many people there wll be glad to help. Do not put the fish in a bowl. Bowls will only further the problem, as goldfish will never stay healthy in a bowl for long.
So after you take care of this problem, make sure your fish has proper housing and food, and you'll be sure that he's around for awhile.

your fish had dropsy. I would isolate this fish. Like put it in a bowl and buy some melafix. It cost about 6$. Treat your fish with melafix until it go's away. You may want to ask the people at the pet store if they reccomend any other fish medacine for dropsy. Treat it before its too late. It doesn't sould too bad right now but your other fish will get it if you dont isolate this one.

good luck! I hope your fish gets better soon. And Merry Christmas
