I tried to give examples of how that attitude could cut him off from a really wonderful person. He himself is from a modest back ground being an army brat. What are you're feelings about his attitude?

It is surprising that he doesn’t see himself how incredibly snobbish and ”haughty” such a sentence sounds.
He seems to come directly from the cast of Oscar Wilde’s THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, without having any of their charm and wit.
A real jerk.

Since he from an army background he bound to be cold and indifferent. He does not want to date peasants means person without manners or low standard of living. This dude has his head in the clouds and he will fall facedown soon if he keeps to this attitude
