Reading through some of today's questions that have obviously been asked to offer a little light humorous relief I have come across the usual miserable, rude, arrogant and serious members.

Rude, arrogant and serious in the same sentence! Serious does not necessarily mean rude or arrogant. I tend to give 'serious' answers to questions which appear to me to be seriously asked.

I was a teacher for years and have a lot of knowledge about so many things because of the type of person I am. Why keep it locked up in my head when it could be of use to someone?

I also have a sense of humour and can laugh as well as be serious. Anyway, why the serious question? :-)

Because the world is a very serious place in deed?

The world can stomp people down and step on someones face in the muck.

Or it can reward them handsomely for something next nothing.

Maybe this website needs a common code like;

Just for fun!

Or no serious answer recommended!

Then the serious people, or the "thought police" could move along without wasting time.

Oh my . . . then you missed the questions about directing a person to see a certain seedy photo of a man...I did not go to the site, I only know this by answer just above mine. You also missed a question about campy date lines, a question of... "I'm in love with a woman who calls me *%@~! in public, what should I do ? " . . . obviously a joke question seeking those unaware to the fact. The lighter questions are there.

It is sometimes very difficult to tell whether the question is serious or not and it is pretty insensitive to answer a serious one with a flippant response. I am assuming this is a serious question. Am I correct?

Yes, I suppose if I insulted your religion, sexuality, race or other what people should just laugh it off.
Just putting things into perspective.

Religion isn't to be taken humorously. Its serious and when people are posting incorrect insulation questions its hard to lighten up!
