In the end, you have to go through itunes. But you can get music onto your itunes through other sources such as limewire or any other downloading site. Then from there, load them onto your ipod.

That way you don't have to pay for every song.

You can put songs on your ipod for free by getting those songs from your own music cd collection or you can borrow cd music from friends.

Just open Itunes and then insert your CD music, ITunes will detect the cd and will import it to it's music library...

The problem with this is that it take up a lot more space on your Ipod because the music from the cd is not compressed.

You can also download MP3 songs from the Internet.. MP3 songs are compressed so you can put more songs into your IPOD.. You can download free mp3 songs from this site below..

The problem with this is that it's illegal.. Any songs your downloaded in the internet that you did not pay for is illegal.. Not unless it's a free trial from some music service sites.

Try Napster 7 day free trial. You can download free music from Napster for 7 days and even if the 7 day expires and you don't want to continue you will still keep the music you downloaded..

Here's a link to napster

I hope it helps..

If you are in Britain, join your local library and borrow any CDs you want. Yes, you have to pay 50p a go, so it's not entirely free, but it is legal. Just copy them into iTunes
