I think you've got it - one is mainly judged by subjective response and science by as objective means as we can find.

To say that something is not scientifically approved does NOT mean it does not exist. It is only our knowledge of its existence that did not exist until the moment of discovery.
The difference between science and the arts is surely one of intention and approach.
An artist, let us say a musician, creates music in order to communicate in an emotional way with the audience.
A scientist sets up a theory which will describe a reality and predict what changes will take place when changes are made to that reality, so testing the theory. The theories and proofs are set up in a structured way in order that other scientists nay examine and accept/deny the theory.
As to proving your feelings scientifically, get the background knowledge that you need, say medicine and/or psychiatry, and describe your feelings etc in a structured way.
That's a hard road to follow, I'm content to enjoy music and books and paintings.

It all comes down to proof.
Science is anything that could be, but has not been, disproved. For instance, gravity is science. If it weren't true, you could drop different-sized objects and measure how long it takes for them to land and you'd disprove it. Since Galileo already did that experiment, and he didn't disprove it, it's accepted science.
Pseudoscience and faulty science are among the names for ideas that have been disproved, but that some people believe anyway.
Art, religion, and philosophy are ideas that cannot be proved or disproved.

Science is based on proofs, theories, hypotheses, laboratory, etc., Art is based on people's creative ideas without any boundary. Sometimes, art and science get combined each other !!!
