"A woman, even if she is involved in an illicit relationship, cannot be punished for adultery and is treated as the victim under law."
Read that last part very carefully. You'll hear feminists crowing about this law (while at the same time talking about how horrible women in India have it), but they don't realize what it implies: that women are so weak and brainless that it's the man they slept with who's responsible for leading them on. It's a sexist law on both counts: it absolves a woman of a crime against her husband, and it does so because she's not considered mentally able to make that choice.
So how about that one, feminists? Still happy?

It's sexism and misogyny either way. Either the woman is "punished" for something that men also do, yet would never be punished for, or she is a "victim" because she is presumed too weak to have made that "choice". It isn't even considered that a man would or should be punished for adultery-it's a "non-issue"...so why should it be an "issue" whether or not a women should be punished? But am I "happy" about the law? Well, if it stops women from being punished for something that double standards would never allow a man to be punished for, then yes...that is a step forward, regardless of the sexist reasoning behind the law.

yes they can, here anyways.
I have mentioned afriend before in earlier post.
She took off and left her husband and kids and moved in with a guy out of prison. He filled divorce on grounds of abandonment, adultery (she had been there a week and he found a reciept where they signed in as husband and wife). He not only got the kids but the house and everything else. And good for him too. She went from being my best friend to a SL*T.
I never got the facts straight about what happened to her on the adultery charge as he won't talk about it and I don't speak to her any more but yes, women can and have been charged with adultery.

Nope. Not in the civilized world. Unfortunately it is still happening in Muslim fundamentalist countries like Pakistan and Nigeria. And there nobody seems to talk about punishing men for adultery. Strange...
People should have a right for privacy and adultery is private. The state has no right to spy in people's bedrooms.

relies upon on the religious subculture. Its exciting how some cultures or maybe right here in u.s., think of that ladies human beings dedicate adultry via themselves. in accordance to this text the girls human beings won't be able to be punished. apparently that some which to repeal the regulation so as that ladies human beings could properly be punished. some men, constantly frightened approximately their egos and what would not belong to them. constantly frightened approximately that poon-tang and regardless of if or no longer somebody else is getting it. there is an previous R&B track with the line "a similar thang it took to get your infant that is gonna take a similar thang to maintain her" --is going for women human beings too.

I dont know what you mean by punished. But systematically men have the reputation of committing adultry more often then men, and I also have come to the conclusion that men also forgive easier if its the woman who has the period of indiscretion. Punishment as in corporal punishment...no...no one should ever be hit, beat, or hurt physically in any way. Moving on and ending the relationship will hurt just as bad but emotionally and thats punishment in itself. But that depends on if you feel you want to try to get past it and work on your relationship.

I don't think through the court system. But yes by means that she didn't realize. Divorce, loss of integrity, knowing that she has disappointed a lot of people besides her family, in-laws friends and children. And realizing she was selfish.

Yes, it's called divorce, being a single mom, raising the children, and being challenged, and disrespected by everyone.
Ooops, that's not for adultery, that's for being married to a man who commits adultery.
GOD bless.
