BirthDAY? What the heck? I celebrate the ENTIRE MONTH! Your birthday is allll about YOU..you dont have to share it with anyone (like Christmas, Easter, etc). So take your day and do whatever you want with it! Dont wait on someone else to heap presents and love on you! Do it YOURSELF!!! GO YOU!!

I don't see any disadvantage. It is good to reaffirm and acknowledge and love yourself at least once a year.
