Who says we're superior to ants?
They have a marvelous exterior skeleton.
They work tirelessly in harmony together to achieve the good of all.
The can lift several times their own weight.
They do not have all the unrest and trouble we have and can live in peace with their neighbors.
Maybe they are looking up and scoffing at us?

We really are just great big ants and there are examples of large numbers of people working like them. I.e. great wall of china , the pyramids, and many others. However we do have a far superior brain to ants and we now have machinery that relieve us of much manual work.
If a superior being were looking down he would have to notice that we have evolved at a much greater rate than ants both in our ability to wipe one another out and to make incredible technological advances. Ants have a great ability to destroy each other but that's where the comparison ends.
Individual lives might be short but that is not what we are. We are in fact part of the human race and how long that lasts will be decided by how we evolve.

I will tell you a very interesting story from Mahabharata the great epic of India. The war was raging and the armies were clashing. Arjuna the great archer was moving in every direction killing and damaging the enemy in every possible way.At that time the great sage Veda Vyasa happened to cross the battle field and he saw an ant crawling accross. The sage could speak to the ant hence he said" my small little brother dont you know that Arjuna's chariot can run you over any time dont you be careful?
The Ant replied" dont you know o' sage that it is arjuna who is the trespasser and Iam the resident of this place so who should be careful?
Vyasa was taken aback "he said I am sorry for what I said You are right. it is for Arjuna to ensure that you are safe in your home"

I've thought about it, yes.
When people are asked "why is it okay for humans to kill animals?" they say it's because animals don't have much intelligence compared to humans.
First, that can be debated. For instance dolphins have assigned each other different names, dogs seems to be able to understand us but we can't understand them, Gorillas are very intelligent plus they're more peaceful than humans. And if we're going by intelligence then does that mean that it's less sad when someone mentally retarded dies than when a person with an IQ of 100 or higher dies?
What if beings from somewhere else, being four times more intelligent than us, came to earth and decided to start hunting us because we're just stupid humans incapable of suffering or feeling pain and fear.
Wow, I'm rambling but I'm tired. Plus I'm only human so give me a break. :o)

No, truly superior beings are beyond scoffing. Scoffing is a way of trying to make yourself feel superior. If you're already superior, there's no need or desire to scoff. They might feel sad instead.

Oh wise one - What do you do for a living - just scoffing at ants and making sure that no one (even the almighty) could possibly scoff at you?

Logically that is a posibility. We all agree that the universe is infinite, that we do not possess the knowledge, the understanding, the technology to fathom it. We are finite beings with limitations. Our understanding on a lot of things are limited to what we know and see as human beings.
It is, therefore, logical to conclude that beyond our finite existence, beings superior than us do exist. Right now, we do not possess the capability to confirm or deny their existence. Therefore, logically, it is 50% probable that they are now watching us, perhaps amused.

I surely hope so, cheeky kitty. I hate to scoff alone.
I mean, I don't know the scofflaws in every part of the Universe, but if superior beings to myself are scoffers, then I don't feel so bad about myself.

It could very likely be that way. It's been the fodder of fiction for years. Who knows what else is out there? I'd like to think there are older and wiser beings out there. We probably know only a small fraction of what there is to know. As far as that goes...how do we know ants aren't older and wiser beings? Maybe they know more than we do.
