U know there are different type of peoples in this world. Different peoples have different views and mentality , different choice, different inquisitiveness etc. U should know all these peoples are not wasting there time through internet. Some peoples have particular site of their own interest, some peoples participating in many cpmpetetion, some peoples finding the right answer of their manyunknown questions form the internet. This is usually main utilization of Internet. Besides, u have to keep in mind this is the media of information flow.. even all sort of..., i mean whatever u want. Now think, some people always interested about bad thing, its because of their bad mentality and due to some other social and many other reasons.

Here is my interpretation of this question.
Why do people spend their time on the net, when it is just a waste of time? Viewing or watching the internet screen is wasteful since peoples interests change very quickly. Therefore you are throwing your hard earned money away.

Because there are endless possibilities of things to learn and do. Also some people are lonely and bored
