My 10 month old baby girl will not take any liquids..this has been going on for about 3 weeks now! She has been formula fed from the start and i have not had any problems with her until now. I have been to her pedi and to a childrens hospital and they say she is fine and wont dehydrate. I am trying to get her to take a sippy cup but not having any luck yet. She will take a few drinks from just a regular cup though. Has anyone else gone through this? Even though she's been to the dr I still worry constantly about her dehydrating! She gets 8 oz of formula in the am mixed with cereal that is the only way i can get her to take liquids....

thanks for the responses. No, she doesnt take her bottle either. The only way she gets her formula is from her cereal. I just dont see how this can be okay for her. We need and drink fluids, she should too!

I wonder if she would like those Pedialyte popsicles? they're made specifically to give children who are dehyrdrated, usualy do to diarrhea, but it just might work. Just take it off the stick and break it up in a bowl. I wonder if Jello would work too?

Good luck

will she still take her bottle.? If yes, then it is just cause the sippy cup is new and she is getting use to it.

If she won't take either her bottle or sippy cup then I also would worry.

I would say keep trying. She will take to her sippy cup once she get thirsty enough.

if the pedi says dont worry then dont.....she will be getting fluids in her vegies or milk....its probably just a stage...keep offering her water....maybe try a straw cup...both my kids loved to drink through a straw at that age...
