Well, some people just care about what is going on the the world . Besides, I don't care about why you don't care. :-P
( do you even know where Germany is? You would know where I am right now ;-) )

Maybe your friends are just trying to carry on a conversation about something else than your everyday topic. Try something new for a change, and if it bothers you that much maybe you could try changing conversation to something else. How about you come up with a topic for a change since it obviously bothers you. They could be trying to share something new they learned, and may value your opinion on what you think. This happens a lot so get used to it. Plus it is interesting to learn about what is going on outside of your own country kinda makes you aware of what is going on around you. Certain events may not directly effect where you live, but could indirectly have an effect later on. You never no until you get pluged in, and see for yourself. The world is a big place a lot happens that usually effects everyone sooner or later. Might as well read to educate yourself about it now than later when you most definitley can't do anything about it. Just a thought though I wouldn't get all worked up about it though I mean who cares it is just news, and so what if they want to share. It's not like its gonna kill you to know something else about another country get over it!!!

Its always a good idea to know what is going on around you. What happens in other countries can very well affect you. For example, if a country were to export chickens to the US, and that country has had problems with the bird flu then you might want to consider laying off of chicken for a while. Okay, that was farfetched, nonetheless knowing of current world events makes you look somewhat knowledgable.

No WONDER people from other countries think that us Americans are selfish, self-absorbed pigs *LOL*
Though I can relate w/you up to a point...I mean, HOW'S the news of a fire at a hotel in Paris going to adversely affect MY life?? Why do I need to know that??? But then again, maybe there's someone here who has a family member or friend there and it's vital news to THEM....It's important to stay informed just in general....whether or not it's directly important to you.
"why do people care that you care about it"?? Hmmm....my best guess is they don't care about it anymore than you....it's just a lame attempt to strike up a convo w/you. Maybe just looking for someone to bounce their opinions off of....or maybe they just need to hear themselves talk and they use you as a stand-in so they won't appear crazy *LOL*

Have you ever heard of Einstien's theory of relativity? Believe it or not, what happens in Germany will more than likely be relative to many things in your own country...get it?
If you don't care, who will?

We are all connected. It's insane to think that what happens in other countries doesn't effect us here.
Don't you recall 9-11?

The media bombards us with all sorts of useless crap, they call news, to keep us from thinking about the criminals running this country.
